About Us

The Wolds School Sports Partnership has been supporting schools develop high quality physical education and school sport since September 2004.

School Sport Partnerships are a national network of schools that receive additional funding from Government to come together to enhance sports opportunities for all. Typically partnerships are clustered around a Specialist Sports College (Caistor Grammar School) and managed by a full-time Partnership Development Manager (Alan Grantham), whose role is to strategically develop and manage the partnership. The partnerships are usually made up of several secondary schools-each of which appoints a School Sport Co-ordinator (usually an existing teacher from the PE department) who is released from the timetable for two days a week. The School Sport Co-ordinators work with a cluster of primary/special schools-each of which appoints a link teacher (usually the existing PE co-ordinator) who is released from the timetable for up to 12 days a year to develop subject knowledge/leadership, out of school hours learning activities and improve links with the local community sports clubs.

We also enjoy a good relationship with the Counties PE Advisor at CfBT who supports our teachers to develop high quality PE within schools through forums and development days.

The partnership team believe that we have the best teachers in the country and are previlaged to be supporting them in in their aspirations to deliver the best possible PE and school sport to young people at their school!

The map below shows our partner primary, secondary and special schools. The School Sport Partnership is currently working with 41 schools in total.
